I was hit while riding a bicycle or walking, may I receive PIP benefits?

Generally, if your injury arises from an auto accident, PIP benefits are available. If you're struck by an auto while crossing a street on foot or riding a bicycle, PIP benefits will be available. There are exceptions, of course. You will look to your own PIP benefits to pay your medical bills, lost wages, and such. The maximum benefit is $10,000. If you don't have an auto registered in Florida, you will look to the PIP policy of a resident relative, and if you don't have a resident relative or your resident relative doesn't have a car registered in Florida, you will look to the PIP policy of the driver who struck you. PIP law is complicated. If you've been injured in an accident, I urge you to seek the advice of an attorney immediately.
