Does the "no fault" law ever allow a lawsuit?

Under the no fault law, you're entitled to insurance benefits even if you cause the accident. However, the price of those paid benefits includes being prohibited from filing a lawsuit when the accident is not your fault, unless you meet one of the four special requirements called thresholds. The thresholds are, you suffered the loss of important vital function, you suffered significant and permanent scarring, you suffer a permanent injury, or your loved one is killed in the accident. If you meet one or more of the thresholds, you may file suit and recover more than the PIP benefits. The no fault law is complicated. If you've been injured in an automobile accident, I urge you to seek the advice of an attorney immediately.
